Our Vision & Mission

Our vision is to empower every student at Pinwheel Elementary to become curious, compassionate, and confident learners, equipped with the skills and mindset to thrive in an ever-changing world. We envision a community where creativity, collaboration, and character are at the heart of all we do.

Our mission at Pinwheel Elementary School is to foster a safe and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to explore their potential, embrace challenges, and celebrate diversity. We are dedicated to providing a well-rounded education that promotes academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and a lifelong love for learning. Together with families and the community, we aim to inspire and prepare students to lead with integrity, kindness, and resilience.

Foundational Learning

Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to provide a balanced blend of academics, creative exploration, and life skills through the highly effective play-way method of teaching. We believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged, curious, and joyful—so our approach integrates play-based activities with structured learning experiences.

From storytelling, art and craft, music, and role play to hands-on experiments every activity is purposefully crafted to nurture all dimensions development of each child. Our educators guide children through these experiences with care and intention, ensuring that learning is not only effective but also enjoyable.

Our Community

Our families come from nearby neighborhoods, creating a close-knit environment and strong parent partnerships. Whether we’re close to home or near the office, our center is ideal for busy working families and easy to get to – for pick-up and drop-off or to stop in for a visit.

We use fun, research-based, multi-sensory strategies to help children develop early learning skills, including Lively Letters, Open Court for phonics and literacy, Handwriting Without Tears, and Everyday Math. We use Responsive Classroom as the basis for our social and emotional learning curriculum throughout the school.

Health & Safety

Your child’s health, safety, and well-being are our highest priorities. We follow rigorous standards for cleanliness, hygiene, and campus security—consistently meeting or exceeding all local and state regulations.

Our environment is thoughtfully designed to promote not only safety, but also overall wellness, ensuring children can thrive in a secure, healthy, and nurturing setting every day. We take pride in being a model of health and wellness in early childhood education.
